PhD Research: Smart Home Ecosystems for Older Individuals Living Independently in Australia and China

I am presently enrolled as a PhD candidate at UNSW Built Environment. My doctoral research focuses on investigating the relationship between smart home ecosystems tailored for older individuals in independent living and their perceived value, with a specific emphasis on Australia and China. By integrating various disciplines such as user experience, product ecosystems, participatory design, and self-perception perspectives, my aim is to delve into how inclusive design principles, adoption strategies, and the sustained impact of smart home ecosystems can enhance the perceived sense of value, well-being, and autonomy among older adults living independently.
